Contemporary Love

Horseshoe crabs have change the little in appearance since they first involved in the Triassic, earning them the title of ‘living fossil’.
Due to the medical use, there is a high demand of their blue blood, the harvest of which involves collecting the animals, bleeding them alive, then releasing them back into the sea.
The crab can be drained of up to 30% of its blood.
